Mainstream Linux
Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux and Rocky Linux cover both the Debian and the RHEL-compatible families.

Choose an operating system when you order or reinstall, and your server comes up with it installed. For anything else, boot your own ISO through the HTML5 KVM console.

Deploy Windows Server for .NET applications, Active Directory or Windows-only game and application servers.
Install Proxmox VE directly and start building VMs, containers and clusters on your server.
Boot FreeBSD, NixOS, Talos Linux, TrueNAS or any other installer through the HTML5 KVM console.
How it works
Choose an OS when you order, or later from the control panel or the API.
Add your public keys so you can log in as soon as the installation finishes.
The installation runs automatically. A reinstall replaces the existing system, so back up first.
For other systems, attach your ISO in the KVM console and install it as on any physical machine.
In detail
Pick the OS your team already knows how to patch and debug; that matters more than the differences between distributions. Some guidance:
Whatever you choose, harden it on day one: SSH keys only, a default-deny firewall, automatic security updates and time synchronization. Our guide to securing a new Linux server covers each step.
If an OS isn't in the one-click library, install it yourself: open the HTML5 KVM console, attach your ISO and boot from it. You see the installer exactly as you would on a local monitor, so FreeBSD, NixOS, Talos Linux, TrueNAS or a specific older release all work the same way.
Reinstalls are quick enough to use as a tool rather than a last resort. Rebuilding from a clean image is often faster than debugging a system that has drifted, especially for CI runners and stateless app nodes. Before a reinstall:
lsblk afterwards; for a different RAID level, see our mdadm guide.Reinstalls are available from the control panel and the REST API.

FAQ
Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, Windows Server and Proxmox VE. Pick one when you order or when you reinstall, and the server is delivered with it installed.
Yes. Any custom ISO can be booted through the HTML5 KVM console, so you can install FreeBSD, NixOS, Talos Linux or a specific release yourself. You then manage that OS like any other on your server.
Yes. Servers are unmanaged by default, with full root or administrator access. You are responsible for the OS, updates, software and backups, and our engineers are available 24/7 for hardware, network and platform issues.
Yes. A reinstall is a single API call with the image, hostname and SSH keys, so you can rebuild servers from CI or scripts. Back up first: assume a reinstall wipes the disks used by the operating system.
