Why Singapore

What this location is good at.

Hub for Southeast Asia

Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines are all within a short network distance of Singapore, so one deployment can serve the whole region.

Where subsea cables converge

Singapore is a landing point for many subsea cables, with routes toward India, the Middle East and Europe, East Asia, Australia and North America.

Pro servers in Asia-Pacific

Singapore is our only Asia-Pacific location with Pro servers, up to Pro 64 with 64 cores and 768 GB of DDR5, for databases and platforms that outgrow the Core series.

Audience and compliance

Is Singapore right for you?

Who should host in Singapore

SaaS, fintech, e-commerce and gaming platforms serving Southeast Asia, regional headquarters of international companies, and services that want one Asian location with connectivity toward India, East Asia and Australia.

Five configurations are available, all ready in minutes: Core 16 ($299/mo), Core 16X ($399/mo), Pro 32 ($749/mo), Pro 48 ($999/mo) and Pro 64 ($1,349/mo). That makes Singapore the place for larger Asia-Pacific workloads; Tokyo and Sydney offer the Core series. Pro 64 adds four NVMe Gen5 drives and 2 × 25 Gbps for private cloud hosts and high-traffic platforms in the region.

Data and compliance

Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) is administered by the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC). Since February 2021, organizations must notify the PDPC of data breaches that meet the notification criteria, and the Transfer Limitation Obligation requires comparable protection when personal data leaves Singapore. The PDPA imposes no general data localization, but hosting locally avoids transfer questions for that data. Financial institutions should also follow the Monetary Authority of Singapore's Technology Risk Management Guidelines.

FAQ

Singapore, answered.

Which servers can I deploy in Singapore?

Five configurations: Core 16 ($299/mo), Core 16X ($399/mo), Pro 32 ($749/mo), Pro 48 ($999/mo) and Pro 64 ($1,349/mo). All are pre-racked and usually delivered within 15 minutes of payment with your operating system installed.

Should I choose Singapore or Tokyo?

Choose Singapore for Southeast Asia and when you need Pro servers with up to 64 cores, which Tokyo does not offer. Choose Tokyo for users in Japan and North Asia, where Core 16 and Core 16X are available. Services with users across the whole region can run in both.

Does the PDPA require me to host data in Singapore?

No, the PDPA has no general data localization requirement. It does require that personal data transferred outside Singapore receives a standard of protection comparable to the PDPA. Some sector rules or customer contracts ask for local hosting, and a Singapore server keeps the data in the country.

Can I serve users in India from Singapore?

Singapore has several subsea cable routes to India and is a common choice for serving Indian users when a server in India is not required. Check sector rules first: Indian regulations require some data, such as payment system data, to be stored only in India. To compare paths from your users' networks, use our looking glass.
